What an excellent first outing for a novel。 Congrats to Molly who I love to follow on Instagram。 I really enjoyed this book and this twist on the fall of the Romanovs。 Loved the smut like OMG！！！ 😍🥵👏🏼😛。 I don’t want to give any spoilers away so all I’ll say is I really enjoyed this and can’t wait to see what Molly gives us next。

who would have thought we needed a story where anastasia and the legendary rasputin were to fall in love？ i never knew i needed it until this。 their chemistry was all consuming， charged and electrifying。 this story taught me the beauty in believing and finding who you are。 that you are your own savior， and those that love you， fuel that strength within you。 & as someone who loved the movie as a child， this retelling made me feel like i grew up with her。

The writing was so beautiful！ I could picture myself in St-Petersburg， in the Palace with Anya and Mikhail！ The story is so well thought out！ And the spice is very well written！ I enjoyed this book a lot and can’t wait for futures projects by Molly！ She also did an amazing job to communicate both the characters traumas and how they help each other through them！ I definitely recommend this book！

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 First things first: I thought this was a decent read， especially for a debut novel。 However there are a couple of reasons why I couldn't give this more stars。 But let me start of by saying what I liked:-the writing: I basically read this in one sitting and obviously， this means it kept me engaged。 I enjoyed the descriptions and overall， it just flowed nicely。 - the spice: yeah， this was good， not over the top and just， you know。。。 hot。 Here's what I didn't think was top notch （Before I start: I First things first: I thought this was a decent read， especially for a debut novel。 However there are a couple of reasons why I couldn't give this more stars。 But let me start of by saying what I liked:-the writing: I basically read this in one sitting and obviously， this means it kept me engaged。 I enjoyed the descriptions and overall， it just flowed nicely。 - the spice: yeah， this was good， not over the top and just， you know。。。 hot。 Here's what I didn't think was top notch （Before I start: I follow the author on Instagram。 I usually cackle at her scathing reviews， but when you decide to pick apart other authors' work， you have to deliver with your own novel and I don't think that necessarily happened here， at least not completely。）:- the tropes。 I love tropes。 I really do with all my heart and I knew this would be trope heavy （I mean， I saw how it was marketed on Instagram， so duh）， but that part really fell flat for me。 It just felt contrived。 To me， it seemed that the story was built around the tropes and not the other way round， which it should be。 You should have a story and then work in some tropes where they fit。 It was like the tropes were there first and the author tried to string them together by filling the gaps with the couple running between the palace and the inn。Also， everything from one-bed to Who-did-this-to-you？ was crammed into two chapters and therefore it lacked emotional depth in my opinion。 There just wasn't any build up。 -I hate to say this but I really didn't care about the characters。 They could have been copied and pasted from any JLA book that came out lately （I know it's blasphemy but people: JLA writes the same characters over and over again， they just have different names）。 Mikhail does not have any character traits apart from being perfect: perfect-looking， perfect hair， being a perfect supportive boyfriend and sex god （side note: How？ I mean， the guy has lived in a monastry for 15 years。 Shouldn't he at least be a little bit rusty？）。 So， you get the gist， he's truly amazing。 And no， he's not morally grey （although he was advertised as such）。Yes， he wants to kill Anastasia in the beginning， but as soon as he realizes that she's kind of cute， this plan falls flat like a pancake and he's your typical swoon-worthy hero that doesn't possess any traits other than being super-supportive of Anastasia。 Anastasia herself on the other hand was kind of annoying。 I felt like the author wanted me to believe that she is a badass who doesn't need a man when in reality， she does。 There's no way she would have come into her powers without Mikhail there， so honestly， it's the classic "girl-needs-a-guy-to-tell-her-how-great-she-is-otherwise-how-would-she-even-realize-how-great-she-is"-trope。 You can keep telling me that she does not need a man， but you have to show me， too， and that didn't happen。 That being said， it was still a decent book， just not a masterpiece as some people have claimed on here。 。。。more

I've been following Molly on Instagram since before she started writing this novel。 I was so excited to hear that she was going to be writing her own novel and I immediately knew I was buying her book when I found out her book was going to be a historical fantasy novel surrounding Anastasia and Rasputin。 Better yet， when she announced that the release would be in late November， I thought to myself how funny it would be if her pub day ended up on my birthday。 Funny enough， the book ended up getti I've been following Molly on Instagram since before she started writing this novel。 I was so excited to hear that she was going to be writing her own novel and I immediately knew I was buying her book when I found out her book was going to be a historical fantasy novel surrounding Anastasia and Rasputin。 Better yet， when she announced that the release would be in late November， I thought to myself how funny it would be if her pub day ended up on my birthday。 Funny enough， the book ended up getting released on my 23rd birthday。 So here I am， a new birthday present for myself in my Amazon library。 And I legit read the entire book in one night， so maybe take this review with a grain of salt。 （Best way to spend your 23rd birthday btw）。 I'm sure I will be rereading this in the future and my thoughts will likely change once I have read over the book with less fervor。I do have some mixed feelings throughout certain parts of the book， but overall I really enjoyed it。 Every aspect of the book that I had issues with were mainly due to a difference in preference in what I like in a book。The beginning absolutely drew me in， which is probably why I couldn't stop reading it。 I loved the whole exposition and drank it up。 Once I reached the part where Rasputin and Anastasia meet for the first time， things started to get a little muddled for me。 I think for me， it felt like they were so immediately attracted to each other， especially on a physical level and I just didn't understand why。 It felt a little too fast for my liking。 The only other issue I had was certain motivations and goals that the characters had didn't always seem to fit how I felt their character was portrayed。 The more I read， the more I realized that this was probably because Molly tried to stay historically accurate。 Once I realized that the reason why sometimes I felt like the reasoning for certain decisions didn't always match with how I felt like the character was built was for the sake of historically accuracy， it made sense and I was more forgiving （for the most part）。Moving on to what I loved about it。 My absolute favorite aspect of the book was the prose。 Oh my gosh it was so beautiful and flowed so nicely。 I seriously want to be able to write like this some day。 My favorite character was Anastasia， she was so easy to relate to and was beautifully written。 I also loved the magic in this world， it was very beautiful in it's simplicity and felt natural in the story。Overall， I believe Molly wrote this book in a month （don't quote me on this）， and it definitely reflects that。 It's really good， but I feel like there was more potential for the book as a whole if it had more time to be developed。 I personally would have loved to see more character development before they fell in love and faced the Tsar and all the daddy issues that takes up the entire second half of the book。 This review has gotten longer than I thought it would， oops。 But I could go on a lot more， I've tried to condense my thoughts as much as possible。Molly， I don't know if you read all your reviews but if you do: You're amazing， I look up to you in so many ways。 Thank you for this book and being willing to be vulnerable enough to share it with us。 。。。more

PHENOMENAL！！ I’ve been looking forward to this book since Molly announced she was thinking about it。 Fast paced， but not in a way where it feels rushed。 You fall in love with Anya and Mikhail within the first couple of chapters。 FULL of tropes， but everything comes about in a natural way rather than feeling forced。 FANTASTIC READ， cannot recommend it enough。 I literally read it in one sitting， so get yourself a water bottle and some snacks so you’re not interrupted！ THANKS SO MUCH MOLLY！！

The Romanov Oracle is the version of The Romanov Dynasty I hereby chose to believe in！ It sucks you in so quickly！ The action kicks off and it doesn't quit。 You don’t have to be a history buff to love & understand this book。 That being said， if you are someone （like me） who is very familiar with the history of the Romanov Dynasty you will also LOVE this book （assuming you don’t have a proverbial historian stick up your butt & can remember it’s a retelling。 If you’re not， maybe find something not The Romanov Oracle is the version of The Romanov Dynasty I hereby chose to believe in！ It sucks you in so quickly！ The action kicks off and it doesn't quit。 You don’t have to be a history buff to love & understand this book。 That being said， if you are someone （like me） who is very familiar with the history of the Romanov Dynasty you will also LOVE this book （assuming you don’t have a proverbial historian stick up your butt & can remember it’s a retelling。 If you’re not， maybe find something not in the fiction genre）。 Molly did such a good job taking key & well-known historical facts from the true story and putting a magical twist on them。 As far as the characters go， I loved watching Anastasia’s （Anya’s） character development。 The metaphor Molly created between Anya learning and trusting her power while also learning to trust and take care of herself was everything。 It spoke so deeply to my heart as so many of us have an incredible power within us that has been tamped down by the world or those around us。 You may think you know Rasputin， but you truly have no idea。 This man is the perfect counterpart to Anastasia。 I loved watching the way their romance grows and changes and all the insane twists that come up weaving into their relationship。 The spice in this book， you guys， it does not disappoint at all！ We all love that enemies to lovers build up and this book does it soooo well。 This book is fast paced and keeps the characters under pressure， leading to some serious angst and high emotional impact。 Rasputin has some sides to him I never knew I needed！ I learned things about myself in a couple scenes。 Rasputin is the brat tamer we needed him to be， and don’t get me started on that man bun。 When he throws that hair back you know it's about to go down。 One way or another。 That being said， the spice is so well balanced in that it is insanely hot but also serves the building of the storyline and the growing relationship。 Just how I like it！ Overall you will not see this story coming no matter what you think you know about the Romanov’s。 It will draw you in and take you through a range of emotions as you become so deeply invested in these characters and the outcome of their world， their relationship and their lives！ 。。。more
